NEW YORK -- Mariah Carey, John Legend and Kanye West topped the nominations for the 48th annual Grammy awards, with eight nods each.
Carey took four major noms including record of the year ("We Belong Together"), album of the year ("The Emancipation Of Mimi"), female pop vocal perf ("It's Like That") and song of the year ("We Belong Together"). In three of those categories she goes head-to-head with Gwen Stefani, who received a total of five Grammy noms.
